Banks are offering a variety of rewards for opening new checking or savings accounts. The latest deals include:
Community Bank of DuPage is giving away a free Portable DVD Player when you open a free checking account with direct deposit. Offer expires 3/22/2009. Minimum opening deposit and minimum recurring direct deposit $100.
HSBC Bank is offering a free Powercost monitor (over $150 value) which monitors power usage at your house for opening a Plus checking account. Offer valid for opening a new Plus relationship and depositing a minimum of $8,000 in new money to any qualifying personal accounts between 1/12/09 and 2/28/09, and maintaining at least $8,000 in new money in total combined balances through 3/31/09
Sovereign Bank is offering a $100 cash bonus to customers who open a new checking account along wwith a new checkcard and make 6 checkcard purchases within the first 60 days. Minimum opening deposit is $10. Offer expires February 27, 2009.
Salem Five Bank is offering a $50 bonus for opening a new Star Checking and Gold Star Checking accounts with direct deposit. Minimum opening deposit is $100.

Regions Bank is offering 25,000 free high-end phones to online banking customers who sign a new 2-year service plan. The phones will be compatible with Regions Bank's Mobile Banking phone application.
Wachovia Bank's Way2Save Program is a savings progam in which Wachovia Bank will pay up to $300 to customers for Wachovia Bank check card purchases, paying bills online, or seting up automatic debits. Each transaction earns $1 which is transferred into the savings account.
Wachovia Bank is listing a 5.00% APY on their site as a first-year bonus for the savings account.
Bank of America's Keep the Change Promotion rounds up every Bank of America check card purchase made by cardholders and then transfers the difference to a Bank of America savings account. Bank of America will match the amount transfered for the first three months and thereafter will match 5% a year. The maximum total that Bank of America will match in a year is $250. Limited to five checking accounts.
Capital One Bank's Rewards Money Market account offers a 2.00% APY on money market balances as well as a 2,500 bonus miles reward after the first $500 deposit within one month of the account being opened. 1 mile for every $20 average monthly balance in the account is rewarded allowing customers to earn miles to redeem for airline tickets, cash, merchandise, and other rewards.
Central Pacific Bank is giving away an iPod to anyone who opens a new checking account. Deposits of $1,000 or more earn an iPod Shuffle and deposits of $10,000 or more earn an iPod Nano. Central Pacific Bank is located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Flagstar Bank is giving away $100 to new customers who open a personal checking account with recurring direct deposit of at least $250 per month.

UFB Direct has a Mileage Checking and Mileage Savings promotion where customer can earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles (up to 17,00 miles) for their banking activity by opening a checking or savings account at UFB Direct.
M and T Bank is offering a $50 cash bonus when you activate direct deposit on a new checking account or $25 when you activate direct deposit on any other new consumer checking account.
