New Online Bank Deals: iPods, Airlines Miles, Cash and more

Banks are in a giving mood. Listed below are some of the latest deals from online banks:
BankDirect is offering BankDirect Mileage Checking, BankDirect Mileage Money Market Accounts, and Mileage CDs which reward customers who bank with BankDirect with potentially thousands of frequent flier miles through American Airlines' AAdvantage program.
Compass Bank is giving away a free Apple iPod 2 GB Shuffle to customers who open a Build-to-Order Free Checking account. The offer requries a branch visit in either Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, or Texas. $25 minimum opening deposit.
Fifth Third Bank has announced the launch of a U.S. Military Banking package providing banking benefits to military personnel both active and retired as well as reservists and veterans. The package includes special rates on CDs, loan discounts, free ATM usage, and more.
Bank of America's Keep the Change Promotion rounds up every Bank of America check card purchase made by cardholders and then transfers the difference to a Bank of America savings account. Bank of America will match the amount transfered for the first three months and thereafter will match 5% a year. The maximum total that Bank of America will match in a year is $250. Limited to five checking accounts.
Midwest Bank will pay a $100 bonus for new customers who open a checking and relationship savings accounts. To be eligible for the bonus the checking account must have direct deposit. Offer limited to one reward per household.
Students can receive a free 4GB iPod nano when they sign up for KeyBank's Free Student Checking Package which includes a checking account, debit card, and credit card. Offer expires August 28, 2008.
Capital One Bank's Rewards Money Market account offers a 2.75% APY on money market balances as well as a 2,500 bonus miles reward after the first $500 deposit within one month of the account being opened. 1 mile for every $20 average monthly balance in the account is rewarded allowing customers to earn miles to redeem for airline tickets, cash, merchandise, and other rewards.
Flagstar Bank will pay 10% APY on a 6-month CD for customers who open a new checking account and have at least 15 transactions such as bill payments through online banking or $250 in direct deposit credits per month. The minimum deposit is $500 and the maximum deposit is $2,500. One CD per household.
Trustco Bank is rewarding customers who open a new checking account with direct deposit with a free $100 savings bond. Offer valid until 7/5/2008. One reward per household.
Bank of North Georgia is giving away free iPod nano for customers who open a personal checking account before June 20, 2008, enroll in online banking, and make three online bill payments by July 31, 2008. Offer good for new customer only and limited to one per household.
Sovereign Bank is giving away a $25 iTunes gift card for students who open a checking account with at least a $10 deposit and sign up for a VISA CheckCard.
Westbridge Bank and Trust is offering a free $50 BP gas card for customers who open an interest checking account which currently is yielding 3.55% or a $100 BP gas card for customers who open a 3.65% 18-month CD with a $5,000 minimum deposit.
E*Trade Bank is paying a $25 cash bonus if you open a new Max-Rate Checking Account before May 31, 2008. The checking account comes with no ATM fees and a 3.25% APY for accounts of $5,000 or more.
Bank of America will pay a $75 bonus to new customers who open a personal checking account. To receive your $75, apply online or go to your nearest banking center. Use offer code AOU260408, and open a personal checking account before June 30, 2008.
Capital Bank is a free checking account that refunds ATM fees and pays for your music. If customers make at least 10 debit card transactions and use online banking monthly they are rewarded with a free iTunes album or 10 free iTunes songs and automatic ATM fee refunds.
Rockland Trust is giving away a $50 bonus to new customers who open checking account with direct deposit. Customer can choose between free checking ($25 min), interest checking ($25 min), or high yield checking ($250 min., 3.00% APY).
Zions Bank is offering a $100 bonus for referring a friend to Zions Direct. The bonus is awarded after the friend opens a Zions Direct account with at least $1,000. Details here.
Discover Bank is paying a cash bonus for new money market and CD accounts. $20 for accounts opened with more than $2,500, $50 for accounts opened for more than $50,000 and $100 for accounts opened with more than $100,000.
National City Bank has a reward program which awards points for VISA, checkcard, line of credit, checking, online bill payment, preauthorized transfers and more banking activity than can be redeemed for rewards like gift cards, gifts, airline tickets, and electronics.
TCF Bank is offering a FREE TCF Miles Plus Check Card with a Premier Checking account that can earn 1 point for every $2 spent on Qualifying Purchases with your card. Points can be redeemed for tickets on most major airlines without blackout dates. If you choose not to fly your points can be used for merchandise from the world's most popular online retailer. The bank operates in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Indiana.
Wachovia Bank's Way2Save Program is a savings progam in which Wachovia Bank will pay up to $300 to customers for Wachovia Bank check card purchases, paying bills online, or seting up automatic debits. Each transaction earns $1 which is transferred into the savings account. Wachovia Bank is listing a 5.00% APY on their site as a first-year bonus for the savings account.
LaSalle Bank is offering a $100 bonus to customer who open both a checking account and a savings account and use a new LaSalle Money Card debit card.
OneUnited Bank will award a $50 cash bonus to customers who set up a recurring direct deposit or make recurring purchases with their VISA debit card. Offer expires June 30, 2008.
Flagstar Bank will give new customers a $100 gas card for opening a new checking account. Requries activation of direct deposit of at least $250 a month. Requires branch visit in Michigan, Georgia, or Indiana.

Salem Five Bank is offering a $50 bonus for opening a Star Checking or Gold Star Checking account with direct deposit.
Wells Fargo has created a virtual reality money management game called Stagecoach Island. The online virtual world created by Wells Fargo allows players to explore the island and its hidden secrets, connect with friends and make new ones, and at the same time learn smart money management. Players control their own virtual money for which they can 5% in a savings account and earn more virtual money by answering money management questions correctly. Wells Fargo's online role-playing community has been online since 2005, but the bank plans to add credit cards and loans to the mix to allows players to earn more virtual money.
American Trust in Iowa is giving a free iPod Nano or portable DVD player for opening up a new checking account with direct deposit. $100 minimum deposit. Recurring direct deposit must be set up within 60 days.
Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $50 bonus to new customer who open a free checking account with a minimum deposit of $100. No direct deposit requirement or monthly minimum balances.
South Shore Savings Bank is rewarding new customers who open a checking with up to $125 in cash rewards. UFB Direct has a Mileage Checking and Mileage Savings promotion where customer can earn American Airlines AAdvantage miles (up to 17,00 miles) for their banking activity by opening a checking or savings account at UFB Direct.
Guaranty Bank has a program called Savings PayBank which will allows customers who open both a Guaranty Bank checking account and savings account to transfer a set amount each month from checking to savings. Each year, after 11 consecutive monthly transfers Guaranty Bank will match the average monthly transfer up to $100 in the 12th month and add that amount to the savings account balance.
Commerce Bank is offering up to $125 in cash incentives for customers who sign up for their More Than Free Checking account with unlimited checkwriting, no minimum balance requirement, and no monthly service charge.
Embassy Bank is offering a $25 bonus as well as a lifetime $25 annual reward for customer who open and maintain a checking account with a $500 minimum deposit.
M and T Bank is offering a $50 cash bonus when you activate direct deposit on a new checking account or $25 when you activate direct deposit on any other new consumer checking account.
