National City Bank has one of the most ambitious reward programs with Points from National City. National City Bank checking customers with a National City VISA CheckCard can enroll to receive rewards from major retailers like Walt Disney World, Sony, Apple, Bose, Home Depot, Macy's, Lowe's as well as cash rewards on their VISA checkcard. The nice thing about this program is that it is very broad with many ways to earn points and an endless supply of retailers to choose from when cashing in. National City Bank has branches in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Florida and Wisconsin, but consumers anywhere can enroll in the program. Points are distributed as follows:
National City CheckCard or Business CheckCard purchases -2 points per $1
National City Visa and Diamond Edition Visa credit card purchases -5 points per $1
Home Equity Line of Credit access card spending - 2 points per $1
Small Business Line of Credit access card spending -2 points per $1
Checks, online bill payments, PIN purchases at point-of-sale, direct debits from checking- 25 points per (up to 500 points monthly)
National City Savings account with preauthorized transfers - 500 points per transfer (limit of 500 points monthly)
5,000 points are rewarded for the following services:
enroll and use a National City CheckCard or Business CheckCard
enroll and use a National City Visa and Diamond Edition Visa credit cards
enroll and use a Home Equity Line of Credit access card
enroll and use a Small Business Line of Credit access card
Open and use a new Home Equity Line of Credit
Open an auto loan
Open and use a new Small Business Line of Credit
Add direct deposit to a National City checking account
Open a Personal or Student Savings account with a preauthorized monthly transfer (PAT) or any other type of savings account without a PAT
Pay a bill for the first time with National City Online Bill Payment
Open a new mortgage
Obviously customer with more banking activity will accrue points more quickly, but even a small amount of monthly activity can earn rewards like a $25 Target or Home Depot card.
