Banks are in the giving mood this Christmas season. Listed below are some of the best rates and offers available on bank checking accounts, savings accounts, reward checking accounts, money market accounts, and certificates of deposit (CDs) from banks (and a few select credit unions).
E-Loan is offering a $25 bonus to new customer who open a 1-year CD before December 18th, 2008.
Regions Bank is offering 25,000 free high-end phones to online banking customers who sign a new 2-year service plan. The phones will be compatible with Regions Bank's Mobile Banking phone application.
National City Bank is paying a $150 bonus when a new checking account is opened with direct deposit. To qualify customer must have a direct deposit of $250 or more and at least 10 VISA checkcard purchases within 60 days of account opening. Offer expires December 31, 2008.
iGObanking.com is offering a free $50 gas card for opening a iGOchecking account and paying 3 bills online before December 31, 2008. Offer limited and restrictions apply.
Wachovia Bank's Way2Save Program is a savings progam in which Wachovia Bank will pay up to $300 to customers for Wachovia Bank check card purchases, paying bills online, or seting up automatic debits. Each transaction earns $1 which is transferred into the savings account. Wachovia Bank is listing a 5.00% APY on their site as a first-year bonus for the savings account.
Bank of America's Keep the Change Promotion rounds up every Bank of America check card purchase made by cardholders and then transfers the difference to a Bank of America savings account. Bank of America will match the amount transfered for the first three months and thereafter will match 5% a year. The maximum total that Bank of America will match in a year is $250. Limited to five checking accounts.
Capital One Bank's Rewards Money Market account offers a 2.50% APY on money market balances as well as a 2,500 bonus miles reward after the first $500 deposit within one month of the account being opened. 1 mile for every $20 average monthly balance in the account is rewarded allowing customers to earn miles to redeem for airline tickets, cash, merchandise, and other rewards.
Central Pacific Bank is giving away an iPod to anyone who opens a new checking account. Deposits of $1,000 or more earn an iPod Shuffle and deposits of $10,000 or more earn an iPod Nano. Central Pacific Bank is located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Flagstar Bank is giving away $100 to new customers who open a personal checking account with recurring direct deposit of at least $250 per month.
Bank of America will pay a $75 bonus to credit card customers who open an new MyAccess checking account online. The checking account features no monthly fees and no minimum balance requirement.
PNC Bank is offering a $100 cash bonus which can earned in one of two ways either (1) Sign up and maintain a qualifying direct deposit on your new personal checking account or (2) open up a $100 business checking account and sign up for online banking.
