With a current Citibank promotion, you can earn a cash reward when you open a checking account -- $100 with a new regular checking account in The Citigold Account Package or $50 with one in The Citibank Account Package. Opening a Citigold account requires a minimum $100 deposit; opening a Citibank account requires $50.
After you open the account, you'll need to complete some additional steps to receive your reward. Within 45 days of opening the account, you must fund it with $1,000 and complete one direct deposit and one electronic bill payment, each for two consecutive months.
Once you satisfy those requirements, the cash reward will be directly deposited into your checking account within 90 days of the end of that month.
