Plus, $50 will be deposited into the savings account after you make your first purchase. Delta SkyMiles® Gold Credit Card
Issued by American Express

The Delta SkyMiles® Gold Credit Card is designed for those who frequently fly on Delta Airlines. You will earn two miles per dollar spent at Delta Airlines and participating vendors, and you will earn one mile per dollar everywhere else. Plus, 15,000 bonus miles are awarded after your first purchase. Miles don’t expire as long as your account is active within a three-year period. The annual fee of $85 is waived the first year, but the purchase APR is above average and not optimal if you plan to carry a balance. However, there is a 9.99% introductory rate for balance transfers that is valid until paid, which is nice if you are trying to pay off card balances with high rates. Common gold card benefits and services are provided as well.

Chase Platinum Visa®Issued by Chase

The Chase Platinum Visa® is an overall good platinum card that offers a rewards program. You’ll earn one point for every dollar you spend, and points are redeemable for cash back, merchandise, travel, and gift cards. The card has a 0% introductory rate on purchases and balance transfers for the first twelve months and a reasonable interest rate on purchases and balance transfers after the introductory rate expires. The card also has no annual fee. There is an interest-free grace period when you pay your bill in full each month, but the card uses a more costly method of computing balances, and therefore, it is not ideal if you plan to carry a balance. The card does offer many platinum benefits including online account access and various travel services.
