The Federal Reserve has lowered interest rates in the United State to historic lows pushing down yields on most savings instruments. Current rates and yields include:
3-month Treasury Bill: 0.08% yield
6-month Treasury Bill: 0.28% yield
1-year Treasury Bill: 0.38% yield
2-year Treasury Bill: 0.81% yield
3-year Treasury Bill: 1.07% yield
5-year Treasury Bill: 1.66% yield
10-year Treasury Bill: 2.43% yield
Highest Bank Money Market Account: 4.00% APY at Dollar Savings Direct
Highest Bank Savings Account: 3.60% APY at Kirkpatrick Bank
2-year Municipal Bond Index (AAA-rated): 1.72% yield
5-year Municipal Bond Index (AAA-rated): 2.49% yield
30-day CD: 3.00% APY at UFB Direct
90-day CD: 2.59% APY at Nexity Bank
180-day CD: 3.16% APY at Corus Bank
1-year CD: 3.75% APY at GMAC Bank
4-year CD: 4.50% APY at Flagstar Bank
US Savings Bonds Series EE: 1.30% rate (through April 30, 2009)
US Savings Bonds Series I: 5.64% rate (through April 30, 2009)
