KeyBank offers full-service banking to customers in 14 states across the nation. Although the company traces its roots back to 1825, the current KeyBank was formed in 1994 when KeyCorp of Albany, N.Y. merged with Cleveland's Society Corporation.

Key has been honored numerous times for its customer service, mobile banking and corporate social responsibility. BusinessWeek named it one of its Customer Service Champs, and it was ranked No. 1 for customer satisfaction by the consulting firm TNS.

KeyBank checking accounts and savings accounts

KeyBank offers a full portfolio of accounts and services to its customers. Its account offerings include:

The bank rewards its customers for their business through the KeyBank Relationship Rewards program. Account holders can earn points for activities such as making deposits, using their debit card and writing checks. On occasion, special offers appear in which customers can even earn bonus points. The points can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including gift cards, airline tickets and cash back.

Regional banking on a nationwide scale

KeyBank is a regional bank in that it serves only 14 states. However, those states are spread across the nation. Branches are concentrated in three geographic areas:

  • Great Lakes
  • Rocky Mountains and Northwest

As of this writing, KeyBank has 1,076 full service branches and more than 1,400 ATMs. Mobile and online banking mean customers can access their accounts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To make it easier for customers to switch to Key, the bank offers an Easy Transfer Kit that consolidates all the necessary paperwork in one place.

The bank has assets totaling nearly $90 billion, and the company employs more than 15,000 workers. Key is a publicly traded corporation with headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.
